Prunes
and Apostle Paul #1
by Gramps
I don't know what
the Spanish or Swahili translation of “plugged up” would be, but
I'm so thankful my mom knew her little boy (me) would become very
sick and hurting, if my 'outgo' didn't keep pace with my eating
habits.
She knew well, all
the symptoms, as moms the world over do, when the prunes and castor
oil were to be administered.
God made all living
things to function with this balance of 'income' and 'outgo'. (OK. So
I'm trying to make a point without using that 'constipation' word. I
don't know what that translates into either.) There's no escaping
that balance and still be healthy. Every cell in our body demands
that balance.
Maybe it would help
teaching our sprouting missionaries by giving some examples of
leaves, and birds etc.
[note: take a moment
and involve one or two of your listeners in teaching this balance
idea. Ask them to think of other places this balance is needed. Maybe
boys and girls breath air in but must also breath out the old air.]
Lesson to
Learn:
This lesson is more
for the youth leaders than the children. Probably one of the
foundational causes of churches dying, is that the pulpit and
leaders, upstairs and down, don't remember you cannot ONLY teach,
teach, and teach some more. The human mind and spirit get plugged up
and unhappy people sit in the chairs and pews with no joy or
enthusiasm... they're 'plugged up'.
Next, we'll see how
to keep things 'moving' in the small ones and those with silver hair,
too.
The Apostle Paul
tells us. [~] [~] [~]
